About Me

Hi, I'm Yulagh

I studied physiotherapy at the University of Cape Town, graduating in 2008.  I have worked in private practice since, completing the OMT course (Orthopedic Manual Therapy) and Pilates instructor’s course (Motor Function and Movement Patterns) along the way.  My special interests are Core Rehabilitation and Women’s Health and I am fortunate to be able to concentrate on these two related areas in my practice.  I incorporate elements from Pilates, OMT and Pelvic function into my treatments and classes.

I took a prolonged break from practicing as a physio to be a Mom to my two children.  As a type 1 diabetic, birthing two healthy children was not without complexity and challenge.  It left me with a deeper understanding of complex pregnancies and post-partum care.  Living with a long term auto-immune disease, and the associated complications, has given me a more empathetic approach to managing patients.

I prefer to guide my patients in an empowering environment where they have control over the management of their long term health.  This requires more input, alignment and work from my patients, but the benefits of this approach are a life-long understanding and management of their conditions and better health outcomes.

When I am not working, I am hiking and running on the mountain with the flowers and birds.
